Her Circle is an intensive immersion program that honours and seamlessly blends the ancient craft of basket weaving with profound exploration into women’s development, rites of passage, and connection with the Divine Feminine.
Guided by experienced facilitators and artisans, participants will learn the intricate art of basket weaving, a timeless practice that symbolizes both the interconnectedness of all things and the weaving together of our own stories and experiences.
Through hands-on instruction and creative expression, attendees will explore various techniques, materials, and designs, each basket becoming a tangible representation of their inner journey and growth.
Utilizing sustainably sourced premium Australian Native fiber and all-natural dyes, this weaving process connects participants not only to themselves but also to the earth and its resources in a harmonious and sustainable way.
Beyond the craft itself, this program offers a sacred space for women to explore their own development and navigation of life’s transitions. Participants will leave the immersion with the important tools and strategies one needs to apply & utilize in their lives.
Through guided rituals, storytelling, healing and reflective practices, participants will honour their own rites of passage – whether it be maidenhood, motherhood, magahood or cronehood – and reclaim the wisdom and power inherent in each stage of womanhood.
Central to the experience is the exploration of the Divine Feminine – the sacred feminine energy that resides within all beings and throughout the natural world. Through meditation, movement, and ceremony, participants will deepen their connection to this divine aspect of themselves, gaining insights and guidance to navigate life with grace, intuition, and strength.

Gillan lives on the Mid North coast of NSW on Dunghutti land.
Acknowledging that creating with her hands and heart was gifted to her through the generations of women in her family. Her dad instilled in her a love of the Australian bush and taught her bush survival skills.
Gillian has had a long career as a teacher and facilitator to enable people with disabilities to be included in their choice of education facility. Preparing safe spaces for people to identify and express their emotions, speak up for themselves and advocate for their rights was a key component of this role.
During her career and raising four children, Gillian found she needed creative outlets to connect with and express her emotions. It wasn’t until she retired that she learnt about harvesting and weaving with Australian native fibers and using natural dyes by attending workshops and an intensive training course with Bare Weaving, Gillian opened a new door in her life. “I am deeply grateful to fellow foragers and weavers and the sharing and inspiration that comes when we gather.”
The unpredictability of natural fibres and dyes invites one to relax into the creative moment, as no two strands are the same and each dye pot is unique. “No matter how I try to manage what I think a project will look like, the fibre tells its own story and comes into being. My feelings, my mood, my thoughts all seem to emerge as I weave. I find comfort in creating with natural fibre and dyes and that they eventually return back to the earth and once again become part of our natural world of wonder.”
Gillian forages, harvests and processes all fibre and dyes sustainably, mainly from private property, crown land, public areas or picking up fibre left discarded in the street. She is an active member of LandCare Australia and a volunteer for the NSW National Parks which enables her to care for and give back to the environment. Gillian also volunteers at the local Land Care nursery where she gathers seed, propagates and cares for plants which are then planted out into the local area.
Gillian has started Spiral Fibers and now supplies weavers with fibre as well as running dyeing and weaving workshops for women.
