Joanne Lea Weaving

Limited to 20 women, By Design

Guided by experienced facilitators and artisans, you will learn the ancient art of basket weaving using sustainably sourced, premium Australian native fibres and all-natural dyes.

Working with these natural materials invites you to slow down, connect with the earth and create in harmony with its resources. Fibre by fibre, your basket becomes a tangible expression of your story, growth and reclaimed wisdom.

Beyond the craft, Her Circle provides a sacred and deeply supported space to explore your personal development and life’s transitions. Through ritual, storytelling, healing, meditation, movement and reflective practices, you will honour the stages of womanhood (from Maiden and Mother to Maga and Crone) and reconnect with the wisdom within each.

You will also explore the Divine Feminine, deepening your connection to your intuition, inner strength and the natural world.

You will leave with more than a handwoven basket. You will carry practical tools, meaningful insights and supportive practices to integrate into everyday life.

Gillian lives on the Mid North Coast of NSW, on Dunghutti Country. Her love of creating by hand was passed down through generations of women in her family, while her father inspired her deep connection to the Australian bush.

After a long career supporting inclusive education and raising four children, Gillian discovered weaving with Australian native fibres and natural dyes. She values the way these unpredictable materials encourage creativity, emotional expression and surrender to the process.

A dedicated environmental volunteer, Gillian sustainably forages, harvests and processes her materials. Through Spiral Fibers, she supplies natural fibres to weavers and facilitates dyeing and weaving workshops for women, sharing her passion for creativity, connection and the natural world.
